Local SEO agency for businesses that serve their own area

Local SEO is the work of getting your business found when people nearby search for what you offer, both in the Google map results and in the normal listings below them. Webpixo is a local SEO agency based in Perivale, and we manage Google Business Profiles, reviews and local pages for businesses in Harrow, North West London and across the capital. If customers come to you, or you go to them, local search is often where the work starts.

What is included

What our local SEO service includes

Google Business Profile setup

We check every field on your profile, from categories and services to service areas and opening details, and fix anything missing or wrong.

Ongoing profile management

We add regular updates and fresh photos, and keep your profile accurate when things change, such as new services or holiday closures.

Review growth

We set up a simple way to ask happy customers for Google reviews and help you reply to every review in a calm, helpful way.

Local landing pages

We build or improve pages for the towns and boroughs you serve, each written for that place rather than copied with the town name swapped.

Citations and listings

We make sure your business name, address and details match across Bing Places, Apple Business Connect and the main UK directories.

Local rank tracking

We track your map ranking from several points across your area, because a business can rank well on one street and poorly two miles away.

How Google decides who shows in the map pack

Google says local results depend mainly on three things it calls relevance, distance and prominence. Relevance is how well your profile matches the search. Distance is how far you are from the person searching, or from the place they named. Prominence is how well known and trusted your business seems, which includes reviews, links and mentions across the web.

You cannot move your office, so distance is mostly fixed. That is why the other two matter so much. A complete, accurate profile with the right categories helps relevance. Steady reviews, a strong website and consistent listings help prominence.

This also explains a common frustration. A business based in Perivale will find it much easier to show in the map pack for searches in Perivale, Greenford or Alperton than for searches in Watford. For areas further away, local landing pages on your website and normal SEO usually do more of the heavy lifting.

Google Business Profile management done properly

Your Google Business Profile is often the first thing a customer sees, sometimes before your website. It shows your reviews, photos, opening details, services and a button to get directions or visit your site. Many profiles are set up once and then left alone for years.

We treat it as a living page. We choose the most accurate primary category, add secondary categories that genuinely apply, write a clear business description, list your services, and keep photos current. We post updates when there is something worth saying, such as a new service or a seasonal offer that does not involve a price.

Google removed the old public questions and answers feature from Business Profiles in late 2025, so the questions customers ask now need answers on your website and in your profile description instead. We help with that too, since those answers can also feed AI tools that summarise local businesses.

We also watch for problems. Profiles can be suspended, edited by the public or targeted by fake reviews. We help you report issues through the proper Google channels and keep a record of changes.

Local SEO beyond the map

The map pack is only part of the picture. Below it sit the normal results, where local landing pages, directory listings and review sites compete. Above it, on many searches, sit AI Overviews that often name local businesses.

Good local SEO covers all of these. We make sure your website clearly says which areas you serve, has a page for each main area with real local detail, and carries schema, the hidden labels that tell Google your business name, address and service area. We also keep your details consistent across Bing, Apple Maps and trusted directories, since AI tools and voice assistants draw on these sources as well.

Search now includes AI answers

Ranking on Google is half the job. Being named by AI is the other half.

Google AI Overviews, ChatGPT and Gemini mostly draw on pages that already rank well. Our AI SEO work builds on everything else we do for you.

Local SEO questions

What is local SEO?

Local SEO is the work of helping a business show up in Google when people nearby search for its services. It covers your Google Business Profile, reviews, local pages on your website and your listings on other sites. The aim is more calls, visits and enquiries from your own area.

What does Google Business Profile management include?

It includes setting up and checking every field on your profile, choosing the right categories, adding photos and updates, and helping you get and reply to reviews. It also means watching for unwanted edits or suspensions and dealing with them through Google.

Why does my business not show in the Google map pack?

The usual reasons are an incomplete profile, the wrong primary category, few reviews, or simply being too far from the person searching. Google ranks local results by relevance, distance and prominence. We check each of these and tell you which ones you can improve.

Can I rank in the map pack for areas where I have no office?

It is hard, because Google gives a lot of weight to distance. Service area businesses can still appear nearby, and local landing pages and normal SEO can win searches in towns further away. We will be honest about which areas are realistic.

Do reviews really help local SEO?

Yes. Google lists reviews as part of prominence, and customers read them before choosing. A steady flow of genuine reviews, with thoughtful replies, helps both your ranking and your enquiry rate. Never buy or fake reviews, because Google can remove them and restrict your profile.

Do you only do local SEO in Harrow and North West London?

No. Our office is in Perivale and we know North West London well, but we manage local SEO for businesses across London and the UK. Most of the work is online, and we research each area properly before writing about it.
